Prayer in preparation to The National Meeting of Catholic Youth of Romania Cluj-Napoca, 22-26 July 2015 Let us pray to the Lord, Our Holy Father, You have sent your Son in the world, to acquire, through his sacrifice, the salvation of souls and that through his resurrection opened again for us eternal life in heaven. After his Ascension into heaven, he sent to us the Holy Spirit, our comforter, so that he may bestow in our souls the works of salvation and to aid us in our journey towards heaven. We thank you Lord, for the joy of salvation and the hope of eternal life in Heaven by which you have marked the hearts of those who sought you in baptism. Good and Merciful Father, in preparation of the National Meeting of Catholic Youths, we commit to you the organisers, volunteers, participants and benefactors of this event, and we pray that you reward them with heavenly graces. Jesus Christ, bless our youths and pour upon them the grace of the Holy Spirit, so that the Church and Society would be glad of us youths who grow in true faith, hope and love. Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church and youths, intercede for us so to obtain the graces the we need to keep moving forward towards sainthood and to achieve the right for the place that your Son have prepared for us in heaven, he who is at right side of the Father in heaven together with the Holy Spirit forever and ever. Extension of first deadline for enrollment in the NMCY 2015

Following numerous requests received and because we really want young people to participate in the NMYC 2015, the organizers of the National Meeting of Catholic Youth in Romania decided to extend the first deadline for registration until June 1, 2015. This means that all those enrolled and validated by diocesan or eparchial responsible until May 31, 2015 23:59 will benefit from reduced contribution costs. Until the publication of this article there were 397 registered entries. Please note that these entries were not processed and may not all be validated. Eparchies and dioceses situation is as follows: 1. Archdiocese of Alba Iulia – 43 entries 2. Archdiocese of Bucharest – 7 entries 3. Archeparchy of Fagaras and Alba Iulia – 39 entries 4. Diocese of Iasi – 153 entries 5. Diocese of Oradea – one entry 6. Diocese of Satu Mare – 16 entries 7. Diocese of Timişoara – 20 entries 8. Eparchy of Bucharest – 24 entries 9. Eparchy of Cluj-Gherla – 32 entries 10. Eparchy of Lugoj – 17 entries 11. Eparchy of Maramures – 42 entries 12. Eparchy of Oradea – 3 entries In terms of the package chosen, 355 entries selected package option A, 20 B and 22 registrations for enrollment to package C. From the point of view of the main language chosen, six entries are for Hungarian and the remaining 391 for Romanian. No records have opted for English. There are 16 priests, 349 participants, 18 accompanying lay persons and 14 consacrated persons entered so far. NMCY 2015 anthem was launched!

Sunday, 5 April 2015, in the Palm Sunday celebration in Byzantine rite and the Eparchial celebration of youth in Cluj-Gherla Eparchy, the launch of the anthem of the National Meeting of Catholic Youth to be held from 22 to 26 July 2015 in the European Youth Capital took place at the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of Cluj-Napoca. The celebration of Divine Liturgy was presided over by His Grace Florentin Crihălmeanu, Bishop of Cluj-Gherla, answers being given by the Choir “Angeli” of Cluj-Napoca, the author of the hymn. At the end of the celebration the anthem of the meeting titled “Blessed are the pure in heart” was sung for the first time publicly. The anthem will be published in proffesional audio format on the official website along with the relevant scores in all three official languages by May 1st, 2015. We are happy to announce that Sunday, 5 April 2015, in Palm Sunday celebration in Byzantine rite and the Eparchial celebration of youth in Cluj-Gherla Eparchy, will be held at the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of Cluj-Napoca  the launch of the anthem  of the National Meeting of Catholic Youth to be held from 22 to 26 July 2015 in the European Youth Capital . The celebration of Divine Liturgy will begin at 10.30 and will be presided over by His Grace Florentin Crihălmeanu, Bishop of Cluj-Gherla, answers being given by the Choir “Angeli” of Cluj-Napoca, the author of the hymn. At the end of the celebration will be sung for the first time publicly the anthem of the meeting titled “Blessed are the pure in heart.” The “Angeli” Choir was established in 1995, by the initiative of a group of enthusiastic young people, within the Bob Greek-catholic church, at that time being the sole place of worship from Cluj-Napoca that was retroceded to the Greek-Catholic Church. The National Meeting of Catholic Youth of Romania was born from the desire of youth from different dioceses and eparchies to gather, to get to know better, to share their life values and to manifest Christian faith together. The National Meeting of Catholic Youth takes place once in 3 years being organized alternative by a Roman-catholic diocese and a Greek-catholic eparchy. The first edition took place in 1992 and the one in 2015 will be the 13th. Registration for NCYM 2015 is open!

Today, 1st April 2015, registration started for the National Catholic Youth Meeting that will take place in Cluj-Napoca, the European Youth Capital, between 22-26 July 2015. The participant young people can choose between the three participating packages designed especially for them: Package A includes participation between 22-26 July 2015 with access to all programs of the event, housing and meal in youth conditions and the NCYM pilgrim backpack; Package B includes participation only in weekend 24-26 July 2015 with access to all the programs in the weekend, housing and meal in youth conditions and the NCYM pilgrim backpack; Package C is designed especially for those living in Cluj-Napoca or for those who do not need housing and meal during the event and it includes participation between 22-26 July 2015 with access to all programs of the event, housing and meals in youth conditions and the NCYM pilgrim backpack; Due to high costs of the organization of such an event, a contribution to the costs is also asked rom each participant, contribution that is different, depending on the time of registration, with deadlines on the 1st of May and 1st of July. This because the event need to be panned ahead and different services need to be contracted and made available to the participants. The Payment of the contribution to costs is made at eparchial or diocesan level by secured online payment with credit/debit card or by bank transfer. Press release: the meeting of diocesan and eparchial responsible with youth pastoral

During 16-18 March 2015, at the Manresa Spiritual Center in Cluj-Napoca took place the meeting of diocesan and eparchial responsible with youth pastoral. The meeting was organized by the Youth Department of the Greek-Catholic Eparchy of Cluj-Gherla. On the Agenda, there were subjects as follows: evaluation of the Pilgrimage of the Cross and of the Icon of WYD in eparchies and dioceses between 15th Oct – 2nd Nov 2014, he message of The Holy Father for the World Youth Day, participation of Romanian youth to the World Youth Day in Krakow 2016, National Meeting of Catholic Youth and aspects related to organizing the pastoral of youth at national level. His Excellency Florentin Crihălmeanu highlighted the importance of this meeting in his introductory speech – a moment of fellowship, of sharing ideas, projects, activities with and for youth, a time of enriching each other but also a time of working together for the National Meeting of Catholic Youth. What came next was a presentation about young people in Romania by Ștefania Isailă, psychologist, talking about aspirations, challenges, faith and lifestyle of young people.  She emphasized that the situation of young people nowadays is a very complex one, and our role is to create bridges with their world, valorizing all the life experiences lived by youth. The importance of volunteering has been highlighted as a form of Christian charity and education for life. The National Meeting of Catholic Youth, Cluj-Napoca 2015 has an anthem!

We are happy to announce the winner of the contest for selection of the anthem for the National Catholic Youth Meeting that is to take place this year, between July 22 and 26, 2015, at Cluj-Napoca, within the European Youth Capital. The evaluation commission was composed by Sr. Lucia Bumb OSBM – musical education teacher at the Greek-Catholic Highschool “Inochentie Micu”, Cluj-Napoca; Sr. Dominica Hîrb CMD – professor of music at the Eparchial Theological Seminary “St. John the Evangelist” Cluj-Napoca; Fr. Lect. Univ. Dr. Florin Casian Bozântan – censor of the Romanian Eparchy United with Rome, Greek-Catholic, of Cluj-Gherla; Prof. Rodica Bucurescu – retired professor of Romanian language and literature who selected the finalists, following that HE Dr. Florentin Crihălmeanu – eparchial bishop of Cluj-Gherla chose the winning anthem. According to the rule of the competition, the proposal of the anthem that will be selected,  will reflect the theme of the meeting, the personal vocation, formulated as “Seekers of happiness” being based on the motto: “Blessed are the pure in heart: they shall see God” (Gospel according to Matthew 5, 8). The selection was done according to the following criteria: it must be an original creation and fully own, without being allowed to take over any elements other creations made public; must not have been made known to the public, in whole or parts thereof; must reflect the Christian identity of the event; and must be guided by the theme of the event. The title of the winning anthem is “Blessed are the pure in heart” and was composed by the choir “Angeli” from Cluj-Napoca, in Romanian language. We present...

Nine proposals of anthem entered in the contest

On Saturday, January 31, 2015, has ended the period for entering into the contest of the anthem’s selection for the National Meeting of the Catholic Youth that will take place this year July 22-26, 2015, at Cluj-Napoca, within the European Youth Capital. Nine competitors from across the country have registered into the contest by sending their creations. All the creations received were in Romanian. We are happy to see such a great interest and the fact that the National Meeting of Catholic Youth opens the appetite of young people for culture and creation. For establishing the winner of the contest, a jury was constituted, which is composed by Prof. Alexandru Suciu – leader of the Magnificat choir of the “Transfiguration” Greek-Catholic Cathedral from Cluj-Napoca; Sr. Lucia Bumb OSBM – musical education teacher at the Greek-Catholic Highschool “Inochentie Micu”, Cluj-Napoca; Sr. Dominica Hîrb CMD – professor of music at the Eparchial Theological Seminary “St. John the Evangelist ” Cluj-Napoca; Fr. Only ten days before the contest to choose the anthem ends

Saturday, 31 January 2015, is scheduled to end the contest for the selection of the anthem of the National Catholic Youth Meeting to be held this year from July 22 to 26, 2015 in Cluj-Napoca, in the European Youth Capital. We remind to those interested that the proposal of anthem that will be selected will reflect the theme of the meeting, the personal vocation, formulated as “Seekers of hapiness” being based on the motto: “Blessed are the pure in heart: they shall see God” (Gospel according to Matthew 5, 8), while the selection will follow the following criteria: must be an original creation and fully own, without being allowed to take over any elements other creations made public; must not have been made known to the public, in whole or parts thereof; must reflect the Christian identity of the event; and must be guided by the theme of the event referred to in art. 3 of the Regulation. This is a great opportunity for young people between 16-35 years old, Romanian citizen or legally resident in Romania which individually or in groups, have talent and can make themselves known before all young Catholics in the country and beyond. The anthem can be created in Romanian, Hungarian or English, afterwards we will try to transpose it in the other official languages of the event. The tradition shows us that successful hymns remain in the memory of youth and years after years are sung in parish groups and in meetings at diocesan and national level.
